The Power Went Out, so We Acted Quickly
I am the head of the information technology consulting team at my place of employment, and basically, my job is all kinds of IT support for the computer systems in the building. One day, our building had a massive power outage causing everything to crash, and it took about 20 minutes for the power to come back one. Once it did though, the computers did not come up like they should have been. People were getting error messages left and right, and some computers were not even getting passed a bright blue screen.
I immediately called an emergency meeting with my information technology consulting team to discuss some IT relocation that was going to be needed as soon as possible to get our business up and running again. The IT support team and I quickly decided to implement some IT relocation of different programs and hard drives, so we divided ourselves up amongst the different floors of the building to fix the problem as quickly as possible.
As my information technology consulting team members began to make their rounds to the different computer and main hard drives, we began to see an immediate difference with the IT relocation. We were very fortunate to not lose any data on any of our customers, and I now have a new found respect for the people that are on my IT support team. Our company was very lucky to have people that are so willing to act quickly in a time of need.
