Every Desk Needs a Chair
Other than the desk itself, desk chairs are the most common type of office furniture. There are many varieties to choose from, such as an ergonomic chair or your classic leather office chair. You don’t always get to choose your chair at work, but if you’re lucky to have a choice these two types should be at the top of your list.
The most popular desk chairs today is the ergonomic chair. This type of chair was designed to support the human body in its natural sitting position so as to reduce workplace fatigue. The idea is that if the body is supported correctly it is less fatigued and therefore more productive.
For the high-powered executive the leather office chair is the preferred choice. These desk chairs tend to have a “presence” to them. They exude wealth and stature in there material, form and comfort, and also tend to be larger and hug their sitter.
Most desk chairs seen in the work place are neither an ergonomic chair nor a leather office chair. Rather they are your basic rolling chair that offers minimal adjustment. Desk chairs for the home are more often an ergonomic chair or leather desk chair and can be found in many variations or even custom designed. Finding the right type of chair for your home desk is important, but at work you’re usually stuck with what they give you – unless, of course, you’re one of those high-powered, long-hours type of employees.
