Combating desk chair envy
I remember the first time my swivel chair was stolen. I had just started working in a new office and all of the desk chairs were up for grabs. I could have had the executive office chair, but the appealing flexibility of the swivel chair won my heart. Oh, how I laughed at my two co workers, one seated in an uncomfortable fold out chair and another constricted in her small cubicle with a large executive office chair. The joke was on me when I arrived one morning to find my chair replaced with a highly dysfunctional desk chair. I could barely lean back in this chair without falling out of it. It was that day I noticed my co-worker reclining back comfortably in her executive office chair. Oh, how I longed for that chair, oh how I grieved for my loss. The lessons I learned from this experience was to one put my name on my chair and to two appreciate desk chairs whether they be swivel chairs or executive office chairs, because you never know how many dysfunctional chairs are out there.
